First Stop - Download Our ClubZap App
We run our club via ClubZap. You do not have to be a club member to join us on our ClubZap App. Download the app, follow Kilkenny Stars and receive updates as the summer progresses and beyond. To download the app, scan the QR Code, click on it or use the link HERE while on your mobile phone.
Important Info For Potential New Members
- Our goal is to take in as many players as we possibly can. However, we are restricted by both coach to player ratio and space. As such, all potential new members must be signed up via our waitlist.
- Once our existing players complete 2024/25 membership renewals and we know our numbers, we will visit the waitlist and approve as many new memberships as possible.
- Please note we do have a significant number of children on that list already (boys in particular) and they will be given first preference. If we have a place available in a particular age group, parents on the waitlist will receive a text or an email from our club registrar.
- Transfers - If your child is looking to transfer from another club, please make contact with the club registrar [email protected]. Basketball Ireland have strict rules and deadlines around transfers including a new rule in 23/24 banning transfers for U14's and younger (more details at the bottom of this page
Boys Social Basketball Development Program
Last season we launched a pilot development program aimed at giving older children, who are new to the sport, an opportunity to train and learn the fundamental skills needed to play basketball without the pressure of competitive matches. This program was a huge success and some of the children involved were able to move into league teams later in the season. Others were happy to continue in the development program and play for fun and exercise. We hope to expand on this program in 2024/25 which will give us more scope to introduce basketball to a greater number of children. We want to set kids up for success. Our existing league teams are well established with most of the children coming up through years in the underage academy. If your child was born 2009 - 2014 and is new to the sport, the development program is the place to start. We hope to offer a similar program for girls and possibly younger boys. Details will be available at a later date.

Renewals For Existing Club Members
We made the big move to ClubZap last season and it's been a game changer for the management of the club on the admin side but also for our club and team communications. We're sure you are all happy to see the back of those whatsapp groups. Now that we have a full season under our belt, membership renewals will be very easy for all of us.
- Existing club members parents will receive renewal emails from Friday 19th July. Renewals must be completed by 1st August in order to secure places and to allow enough time for administration ahead of leagues commencing. We also need time to visit the waitlist and offer places where possible.
- N.B. If signing up to monthly instalments, the first payment will go out on the date you renew and continue on the same date each month until completed. With this in mind, renew on a day of the month that works best for you. We cannot change the payment schedule later.
- You will need to enter your email address to start the renewal process so please make sure to use the same email as last season. There will be an option to pay in full or by instalments as before, however the number of instalments allowable will reduce as the months go on with membership instalments finished for all by February 2024. Example: Sign up in July with an option for 8 monthly instalments, August reduces to 7 instalments etc.
- If your child will not be returning to the club in 2024/25 please notify your child's coach as soon as possible. You can private message the coach in your team chat group by selecting "message admin".
- As always, all players, coaches and club volunteers must register with Basketball Ireland annually. Players are not permitted to take part in club activities unless they are BI registered. We will inform you when Basketball Ireland open 2024/25 player registration (usually August). We ask all parents to please complete BI registration promptly once it opens as it adds to the coaches and registrars workload having to continuously follow up.
